Cedar Grove is a small, not-for-profit school nestled within a red cedar grove on many acres of farm and forested land. Our curriculum and daily activities are developmentally aligned and move with the seasons and the children in front of us — mornings given to focused academic work, and afternoons unfolding into arts, handwork, baking and other specialty subjects.

Full and part-time programming, designed to fit naturally into the rhythms of family life and the seasons of childhood.
Early Years
A gentle, play-based introduction to school — full of story, song, baking and time outside, where fairy tales and the natural world become the doorway into reading, writing, math and the arts.
Lower Grades
Deeper academics paired with stewardship of the land — geography, science, history and craft come alive.
Part-Time Program
Open to every family, not just those homeschooling. Kinder/Grade 1 families choose 1–4 play-based days a week; Grade 2–5 students join us Fridays for seasonally-aligned, nature-based experiential enrichment — from propagating native trees to fire and shelter-building skills.
Days that breathe with rhythm.
Each day moves between focused academic work and time outdoors — between stillness and movement, doing and resting. Children know what to expect, and within that rhythm, they're free to wonder.
Morning Gratitude
Greeting the day as a whole school with song, movement and a moment of gratitude.
Deep academic work (Grades only)
Academic blocks taught through story and image.
Forest play
Free play and exploration of our wooded playground, with the cows roaming nearby. Children enjoy a minimum two hours a day in the outdoors.
An unhurried meal
Beginning with a candle and a verse, children enjoy lunch together.
Arts, crafts & practical work
Painting, handwork, baking, music — the work of the hands and the heart.
A grateful goodbye
Closing the day before departure with an afternoon gratitude circle as a whole school.

The unhurried rhythm of each day is so refreshing — children exploring and learning in nature, the smell of freshly baked bread on baking days, seasonal art and crafts proudly displayed on the walls, and a community that encourages children to just be.
We are so grateful to have been part of the Cedar Grove community over the past two years. We have loved our first year at Cedar Grove. Our son has thrived in their supportive and nurturing environment. He looks forward to attending school everyday and always comes home feeling fulfilled. The teachers are all so thoughtful and caring, each making my son feel safe to learn in their environment.
